Had errors about Nvidia driver show up. Any clues? For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. Anyway, I've tried with a vanilla 2.6.30rc2-git6 kernel using gem and UXA and I've got exactly the same behavior. Seems this problem affects many Intel GPU... So for example, if you saved the script in your home directory you'd need to open a terminal window and run 'sudo ~/fixmtrr.sh' (without the quotes) on each login. PS: The final goal here is to use OpenGL of NVIDIA. How do I do that? It maybe that when you did run startx with sudo, that changed the ownership of "/home/andy/.Xauthority" to those of root. Check This Out I've read somewhere in this thread that the new line in /proc/mtrr gets wiped out after a reboot (or X restart?).
