Over last few months, slower, and... A "Repair Re-installation" of Windows XP, using your Operating System disc, and re-installation of the NVIDIA drivers (an older, legacy driver, not the newer) would be my next try.
I'm not to sure on a good one but you will be best getting some driver cleaning software to remove every part of the last drive and then reinstalling.
