Try this: port clean --all zlib sudo port clean --all zlib sudo port install zlib Remember to always use "sudo" when trying to install or uninstall ports. Thanks. comment:2 Changed 5 years ago by [email protected]… Cc [email protected]… removed Cc Me! i386-apple-darwin11.3.0 :info:configure checking host system type...

No, that is not why; that error is irrelevant; the earlier error is the one to pay attention to: :info:configure checking for C compiler default output file name... This looks like the cause, though I am unclear as to what I can do about it. Please verify you are actually running MacPorts 1.9.2? (Type "port version".) If you are, did you recently update to it?

Reassigning to maintainer. comment:13 Changed 6 years ago by [email protected]… That settles it: then we definitely didn't fix it! I just re-tried and the sync apparently fixed the problem this time, but I came up with another one this time : ---> Extracting zlib Error: Target org.macports.extract returned: 2010-12-15 15:11:52.089 It sounds like either you don't have Xcode installed at all, or it's a version that's too old, or you've installed Xcode in a nonstandard location and you haven't informed MacPorts Perhaps this ticked should be reopened and this amendment recorded in the main repository? If you cannot connect to the server, I don't see how we can fix that for you.

Wait 30 minutes, "sudo port selfupdate", "sudo port clean ghc" and try again. this content comment:16 follow-up: ↓ 18 Changed 6 years ago by [email protected]… I'm not sure I understand this proposed fix, as the Portfile already calls for an HTTPS URL: svn.url https://${name}${name}/stable In any case, Here is what I take to be the relevant portion of the build log: :info:configure checking for ld... /usr/bin/ld :info:configure checking for path to top of build tree... I'm not aware of a mechanism for a portfile to use both fetch.type svn and fetch.type standard, so I cannot implement your suggestion to try HTTP only when subversion fails.

I’ve tried updating Macports, installing/building perl5.12 independently, uninstalling and reinstalling perl5.12 to no avail. macports share|improve this question edited Sep 27 '11 at 22:53 asked Sep 22 '11 at 0:57 Zackary Corbett 5818 You cut off the relevant part of the log; the Maybe that will give us more clues. weblink Key bound to string does not handle some chars in string correctly What are "desires of the flesh"?
