If its not fragmenting at 1400 and the packet size is greater than 1400 (1500 in your example) shouldnt the ip mtu command have 1500 set? Therefore the MTU defined under the show commands is 1500 which is the MTU for the Ethernet Payload, not including the Ethernet Headers.

I only bring this up because of the conversation we had recently about some inconsistencies with fragmentation … and of course, the 8 bytes preamble added by the interface drivers.

I was about to configure the FastE interface using Version 12.2(33)SRD4, so as suggested, I would open a case with TAC as it clearly appears to be a bug.
